Job Description
Job Purpose:
To provide a high level of professional administrative support and advice to the in relation to compliance with legislation and statutory governance requirements.
Skills Required
Experience of developing corporate governance processes in an educational/charitable/public sector organisation or professional administrative experience in process development in a large complex organisation
Any legal experience is helpful, either legal secretary/paralegal etc.
Duties
1. To develop, manage and administer efficiently and effectively processes that are within the delegated responsibility of the Governance and Legal Administration section.
2. To be familiar with internal regulatory procedures; identify the need for new procedures; draft new procedures and revise existing ones in the light of experience and relevant legislation; implement the same and ensure that new procedures are internally communicated as appropriate.
3. To provide training as required.
4. To assist the Head of Governance and Legal Administration in the enhancing of legal governance arrangements and in the disseminating and monitoring of legal reports.
5. To provide administrative support to the University\'s subsidiary companies to ensure their effective governance.
6. To undertake research and analysis and prepare reports and briefing papers relating to governance matters to relevant officers, groups and committees.
7. To work proactively with other staff in the Governance and Legal Administration and the Strategic Development Service as and when appropriate.
8. To undertake any other duties relevant to the role as determined by the Head of Governance and Legal Administration and/or the Head of Strategic Development Service.
