| Technical Support Analyst (2nd line support), £22K - £25K, Chester Commutable from: Chester, Hawarden, Wrexham, Liverpool, Wirral, Ellesmere Port, Merseyside, Warrington, Cheshire Summary: This is an information technology first/second/third line support role, covering all standard working hours, and 'out-of-hours' support as required. The position requires good general IT skills and an appreciation of all applications used throughout the region. The roles will involve constant contact and communication with the user community (which encompasses users with a wide range of IT competency). Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a drive to deliver outstanding commitment to customer services and satisfaction. . A guide to appropriate skills and experience required is:- *proven experience in delivering excellent customer service either face-to-face or on the telephone *Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills *IT related qualifications (preferably degree level) *MCP or MCSE qualification. *Extensive commercial IT experience, with in depth knowledge of at least one of the six key areas and a working knowledge in at least three other of the six key areas. *Excellent customer service skills *Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills *Good previous commercial IT experience. Skills Required: There are six main areas that incumbents must focus on - *PC: good PC hardware and software support skills, together with a working knowledge of PC imaging options, antivirus, MS Windows XP, 2000, etc., MS Office products, MS Exchange/Outlook; knowledge of common desktop printers; *Email - Exchange preferably Exchange 2003, plus web mail options *Networking: a working knowledge of local area networking, routers, switches, hubs, bridges, etc. *Server: an operational knowledge of the main multi-user computer operating systems, primarily Microsoft Windows 2003, Active Directory, Windows NT and 2000; knowledge of forest and domain design considerations; some knowledge of RAID options, plus storage options (SANs, NASs, direct attached) plus resilience (active/passive, full mirrored, load balancing, clustering, etc.) *Architectures: knowledge of various thin client solutions including Citrix and Terminal Services plus an understanding of client/server solutions and native web solutions *Internet and remote access options and security; proxy servers, firewall configurations, web content management systems, etc. For more information, please call Leena on 0870 2000 210 and email your CV to me at leena.mistry@circlerecruitment.com.
